We are back to our blogging ways and just in time to share a few great pictures of Isobel's first birthday last Friday (7/18). Martin's family came from Chicago to help us celebrate and Isobel also had her best baby friend Karina there to help her party. Isobel loved having so many people around and she wasn't quite sure what to make of all the wonderful presents she received. Thanks to everyone who gave her so many thoughtful gifts including books, puzzles, a singing music station and much needed clothing- she's growing so fast!

Iso and the Froggy
Here's cute a video of Isobel and her new frog toy, a gift from Uncle Jim and Aunt Louise.
On Friday of this week she'll be six months. Wow. People are not joking when they say it goes fast. Yesterday she was just an adorable blob and now she eats rice cereal, plays with frog toys and laughs at our jokes (most of the time). Jokes like this one for example....

Happy New Year!
With vacation almost ending and the work/school/daycare grind about to
resume this week, we thought we'd post a quick update on Isobel's first
holiday. Our friends and family generously showered our little cutie
(and us!) with clothes and toys just in the nick of time. She is
growing like a weed (up to 15 lbs as of yesterday)so her new
footie-sleepers are in full rotation. Her favorite new toys include a
little phone (uh-oh), a four key piano (the goal is to play it as
loud as possible)and a spinning alphabet thingee that has a tune now
running constantly in our heads ("spin, spin a letter...how many do you
know?"). Isobel also enjoyed her cousin Julian's toys that he
thoughtfully let her try out on Christmas, including this one:
